ITINERARY

First Day - Sarria - Portomarín 22 km 4-5 h
The walk will be through rural roads that link small villages with stone houses until we find the Miño river, which welcomes us to the town of Portomarín.

Second Day - Portomarín - Palas de Rei 24 km 5-6 h
This stage is divided by Sierra de Ligonde. Although the beginning is promising and stars with a gentle ascent up Mount San Antonio, the rest goes through modest roads provincial and even national. There are some good examples of Romanesque churches.

Third Day - Palas de Rei - Arzúa 28 km. 6-7 h
Besides being the longest stage of Galicia it has a broken profile. We move through a landscape marked by farms. The route crosses the boundaries of Lugo and reaches Melide, where it joins the Primitive Way, and continues for a multitude of slides and magic places as the Catasol River to Ribadixo da Baixo and Arzúa where connects to the North Road.

Fourth Day - Arzúa - Pedrouzo 19, 1 km 4-5 h
Among Arzúa and St James cathedral mediate nearly 40 km the most logical it is to divide the section into two days by stopping at Pedrouzo. It is quite a comfortable way, with easy slopes and always close to the N-547.

Fifth Day - Pedrouzo - Santiago de Compostela 20 km. 4-5 h
We walk through the last patches of eucalyptus and oak trees. From the vantage point of Monte do Gozo you get the first view of Santiago de Compostela and begins an urban tour ending at the foot of the Baroque facade of the cathedral. The Obradoiro square is the end and the beginning.
